anyway, turns out that i did make some time for me last weekend, and i'm sure you won't be surprised when i say that i devoted it to work:) but the fun part. i promise.
i've become sort of obsessed with making flower/button embellishments. they inspire whimsy and are just so darn cute. i saw some on etsy forever ago and put my own spin on the ones that i make.
i re use the tissue paper scraps from the poms that i make, by punching out 1" rounds. so far i have only used tan, maybe someday i'll move on to more fun colors.
next i sew a button onto 5 or 6 of the rounds, spacing them out to look like flower petals. all of the buttons that i use are from a shop on etsy called Zelda's Buttons. the type of thread is a bit thicker, used for quilting, in the color ecru.
the last step is attaching glue dots to the backs of the flowers. i love glue dots because they stay put and have a paper backing that you can keep your embellishment on until you're ready to use it.
here's the finished product. as you can see i made hundreds of them! i don't know how many hours i spent on them, honestly i don't want to know, but i am very happy with the outcome.
hope you enjoy!

I LOVE your poms! I saw them on Ali Edwards' blog. And your little buttons are adorable- yes, you should use lots of other colored issue scraps. Hmmm- I can think of lots of possibility for scrapbooking embellisments with your scraps.
